Sustainability is reflected in the way the landscape, drainage and movement strategies have been developed.
Green infrastructure and sustainable drainage systems would work with the site’s topography to manage surface water, support biodiversity and help create an attractive and resilient environment for people and wildlife.

Enhancing the area for people and local wildlife
The proposals are designed to deliver at least 10% Biodiversity Net Gain through habitat creation and enhancement, alongside new tree and hedgerow planting.
New walking, cycling and equestrian connections, together with the proposed 5km Heritage Green Trail, would also support more sustainable ways of travelling between the new neighbourhood and surrounding communities.
Future homes would also be designed to respond to evolving sustainability standards, helping to support lower-carbon, more resilient living over the long term.
